Donji grad (Lower Town)
Zagreb's central square - Ban Josip Jelačić Square - is the beginning of a series of squares and city parks shaped into a famous Lenuci's "Green horseshoe ", named after the urban architect who created it. A number of parks in the centre of the city start from the railway station, across the botanical garden, up to Marulić Square and the Square of the Republic of Croatia. The tour that includes the beautiful greenery and flowery paths is a pleasure for those who want to relax but also appreciate monuments, galleries and museums attractive to for art lovers.
The Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Art Pavilion, the Croatian National Theatre, and the Modern Academy of Music are just some of the many sights located right in the Lower Town.
